Softball Recap: Glenn Eagles vs. Artesia Pioneers

Glenn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Artesia Pioneers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Carissa Galvan was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Galvan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Marina Rios was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Glenn's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Artesia, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
