Recap: Luther Knights vs. De Soto Pirates
Even though the De Soto Pirates scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, the Luther Knights still came out on top. Luther took down De Soto 74-57. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Luther also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Despite the defeat, De Soto saw an underclassman step up: Kylee Venner dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Venner is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Makenna Gilman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.
Luther is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for De Soto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luther will stay at home for another game and welcome Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Arcadia is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. De Soto won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wauzeka-Steuben at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Wauzeka-Steuben will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
