Soccer Game Preview: Northwest Guilford vs. Western Alamance

The Northwest Guilford Vikings will face off against the Western Alamance Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Guilford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Western Alamance will be up against a hot Northwest Guilford squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Vikings came out on top against Reagan by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Northwest Guilford's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Reagan are ranked 196th).

Northwest Guilford hit Reagan with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from John Killian, Dagan Cochrane, and Keller Nash.

Meanwhile, Western Alamance kept a clean sheet against Eastern Alamance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Western Alamance, who have now won 11 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Western Alamance's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Northwest Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2-2.

Northwest Guilford beat Western Alamance by a goal in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, winning 1-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
