Flag Football Game Preview: Aurora Central Trojans vs. Northglenn Norsemen

The Aurora Central Trojans will square off against the Northglenn Norsemen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Aurora Central's offense hasn't had much luck over their past six contests, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aurora Central's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Skyview on Friday. They were dealt a 30-0 defeat at the hands of the Wolverines.

Meanwhile, Northglenn never let their opponents score on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Gateway. The result was nothing new for the Norsemen, who have now won six matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

Aurora Central better keep an eye on Kaitlyn Fujinami. She was instrumental in Northglenn's win, rushing for 86 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, while also throwing for 145 yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Fujinami posted two rushing touchdowns, the most she's had since back in August. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Rodriguez, who picked up 59 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Northglenn's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Madeline Olmos and Jazmine Cereceres Avina, who racked up all six sacks between them. Olmos is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.

Northglenn is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.2 points on average over those games. As for Aurora Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
