Even though the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the Live Oak Eagles still came out on top. Live Oak had just enough and edged Woodlawn-B.R. out 65-63. That's another feather in the cap for Live Oak, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Woodlawn-B.R. had strong showings from Christian Johnson, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Kelinee Stone, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Johnson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Price, who scored 4 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds.
Live Oak's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Live Oak will be playing at home against West Feliciana at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodlawn-B.R., they will head out on the road to face off against Central Private at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
