Soccer Recap: Phoebus Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hampton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Phoebus). They were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over the Hampton Crabbers on Tuesday. While Phoebus didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Their offense was hitting Hampton from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Nicolas Cuellar Luligo led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Phoebus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matches. As for Hampton, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Phoebus wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Granby on the 23rd. As for Hampton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Norcom at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
