Basketball Game Preview: Woodcreek Timberwolves vs. Lodi Flames

The Woodcreek Timberwolves and the Lodi Flames will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Woodcreek comes in on 11 and Lodi on three.

Woodcreek is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since December 5th on Thursday. They blew past El Dorado 70-49. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Cougars are ranked 698th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Chase Yukawa, who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Dennie, who earned nine points.

Meanwhile, Lodi was able to grind out a solid victory over Ponderosa on Thursday, taking the game 58-46.

Woodcreek's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Lodi, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Woodcreek came up short against Lodi in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 52-41. Can Woodcreek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
