Volleyball Recap: Dunlap's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

It was a good run, but Dunlap unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat back in September.

While Dunlap was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-22.

Sam Matheny paced Dunlap's offense, picking up six kills. Matheny got some help from Lydia Rogers and her eight assists. Finally, Matheny was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Dunlap's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-13 record this season.

Dunlap has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Stevenson on the 17th. As for Washington, they will welcome Morton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
