Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

After flying high against Harmony School of Innovation on Friday, Mountain View came back down to earth. The Lobos came up short against the Ysleta Indians on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Lobos have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

While Mountain View was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Ysleta's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-15, 25-17.

Ysleta was led to victory by Kiwii Berry and Crystal Espinoza. Berry had 28 assists and seven digs, while Espinoza had 19 digs and two assists. Espinoza is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 19 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Ysleta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mountain View is set to face off against their familiar foe Fabens at 5:35 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ysleta will take on rival Riverside at 5:35 p.m. on Friday.
