Baseball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to the Flippin Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greyhounds of the 6-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Aiden Province made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Salem's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Flippin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Salem will square off against Yellville-Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flippin, they will face off against Marshall at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshall has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.71 runs per game on average), something Flippin will no doubt try to take advantage of.
