Lakin is 8-2 against Southwestern Heights since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Broncs will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Lakin has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Southwestern Heights will come in with three straight wins.

Lakin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dru Patterson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Southwestern Heights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Ulysses on Tuesday.
Julius Trejo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Trejo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Friessen, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
Southwestern Heights pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lakin, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lakin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. However, it's not like Southwestern Heights struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lakin took their win against Southwestern Heights in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Broncs repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
