Baseball Recap: Charlotte Christian Beats Lexington for Their Third Straight Victory

Charlotte Christian won against James Island on Friday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Charlotte Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lexington Wildcats, sneaking past 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Will Parrish looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Derek Vazquez was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Witt McCammon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Charlotte Christian pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lexington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5-1 record this season.

Charlotte Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Day has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.64 runs per game on average), something Charlotte Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lexington, they will venture away from home to face off against Chapin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lexington 3.3, Chapin 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
