Soccer Game Preview: Flower Mound vs. Hebron

The Flower Mound Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Hebron Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Flower Mound is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Coppell, who was ranked third at the time (Flower Mound was ranked sixth). Flower Mound came up short against Coppell on Friday, falling 3-0. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Hebron entered their tilt with Braswell on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bengals 9-1. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Braswell from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Maddie Martinez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Hebron's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Flower Mound, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3-1.

Flower Mound was able to grind out a solid victory over Hebron when the teams last played back in February, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Flower Mound since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
