Baseball Game Preview: Pine Creek Eagles vs. Liberty Lancers

Pine Creek has gone 9-1 against Liberty recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Pine Creek will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Pine Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Vista Ridge on Saturday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Aiden Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. He is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tristan Mullis, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dane Dial also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pine Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Liberty came up short against Rampart on Saturday, falling 17-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered against the Rams since May 27, 2021.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 8-2. As for Liberty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Pine Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Liberty when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
