Softball Recap: Fort Atkinson Comes Up Short

Fort Atkinson lost to Portage back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blackhawks took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Knickrehm led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Guth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Fort Atkinson's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Portage, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Atkinson will host Mount Horeb at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Portage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Baraboo at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
