Football Recap: Genesee Comes Up Short

Genesee dropped to 3-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the Saranac Redhawks. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

As for Saranac, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 28 points or more this season.

Eric Lake went supernova, rushing for 112 yards and one score on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Jackson, who rushed for 89 yards on only six carries.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genesee will take on Beecher/Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Genesee will be up against Beecher/Johnson's rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Saranac, they will challenge Bath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
