Soccer Game Preview: Bassett vs. Halifax County

Bassett is 1-9 against Halifax County since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bengals will venture away from home to take on the Comets at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Bassett put up the most goals they have all season on Monday. They blew past Tunstall 7-2.

Meanwhile, Halifax County entered their tilt with Tunstall on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Trojans. That's two games straight that Halifax County have won by just one goal.

Halifax County pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bassett, their win bumped their record up to 2-4-1.

Bassett couldn't quite get it done against Halifax County when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bengals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
