Basketball Recap: Victory Baptist Comes Up Short

Victory Baptist and Bible Baptist Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Victory Baptist had to settle for second. They fell 59-52 to the Bible Baptist Christian Eagles. The Warrior have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Victory Baptist lost, don't look at Dontaye Bell. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-18 on his way to 22 points. Isaiah Davis was another key player, putting up ten points.

It was another big night for Trent Hamilton, who posted 24 points in addition to eight boards and five steals for Bible Baptist Christian. Hamilton's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanrick Rolle, who had 13 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Victory Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Bible Baptist Christian, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

As of now, neither Victory Baptist nor Bible Baptist Christian have any future games scheduled.
