Volleyball Recap: Culver Community Extends Winning Streak to Three

Culver Community had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Knox Redskins. That's more bragging rights for the Cavaliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hayden Lute paced Culver Community's offense, picking up five kills. Lute got some help from Sophie Grossman-Norris and her eight assists. Grossman-Norris was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Knox still got an impressive performance from Addison Sponaugle, who had 18 digs and two assists. Sponaugle is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Culver Community's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Knox, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Culver Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Triton on the 13th. As for Knox, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Caston on the 13th.
