Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tolleson). They were the clear victor by a 13-7 margin over the Damonte Ranch Mustangs on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.
XAVIER MARTINEZ made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). MARTINEZ was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, ANTHONY OROZCO was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. JOSE CORRALES was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
The win got Tolleson back to even at 4-4-1. As for Damonte Ranch, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
