Basketball Recap: Davis Huffman Key Part of a Team Effort in Soldiers Win

There's no place like home for Charlotte Elite Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the TPLS Christian Academy Lions out 64-62. The victory was some much needed relief for the Soldiers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Charlotte Elite Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Davis Huffman led the charge by going 9 for 15 en route to 27 points. The dominant performance gave Huffman a new career-high in points. Braylon Gray was another key player, going 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points and eight assists.

Charlotte Elite Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for TPLS Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Charlotte Elite Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-61 defeat against Elevation Prep Academy on the 15th. As for TPLS Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 88-54 victory against Life Christian Academy on the 14th.
