Football Game Preview: Hampton County Hurricanes vs. Barnwell Warhorses

Hampton County is 2-7 against Barnwell since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hurricanes will face off against the Warhorses at 7:00 p.m. Hampton County will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Hampton County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lake Marion 56-0. The Hurricanes have beaten the Gators the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Gators has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, while it was Barnwell who put the first points on the board last Friday, it was Lake Marion who put up more. The Warhorses took a 19-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. While the Warhorses didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gators 8-0 in the first quarter.

Barnwell's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hampton County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Hampton County came up short against Barnwell in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 27-14. Can the Hurricanes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
