Football Game Preview: Madison Marlins vs. Milby Buffs + Official Tickets

The Madison Marlins will take on the Milby Buffs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Milby will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Madison extended their winning streak to four on Saturday. The Marlins strolled past Sterling with points to spare, taking the game 35-20. Surprisingly, this marked the Marlins' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Madison's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Nathaniel Salas: he made 16 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Milby, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They snuck past Austin with a 33-27 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Buffs in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

A big part of Milby's victory came down to the chemistry between Gabriel Gutierrez and his top target Artavion Davis. Gutierrez threw for 269 yards and a pair of TDs while Davis picked up 127 receiving yards and two scores.

Milby picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Madison came up short against Milby when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 21-14. Thankfully for the Marlins, Aaron Lummus (who rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 124 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
