Mt. Pulaski barely beat Springfield Southeast the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hilltoppers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Spartans on Friday. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Mt. Pulaski and bumps their season record up to 13-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Springfield Southeast, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Pulaski will host Lanphier at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hilltoppers are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Springfield Southeast, they will welcome MacArthur at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
