Softball Recap: Discovery Comes Up Short

If Discovery was feeling good fresh off their 21-9 takedown of Valley Oaks CES on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the Community Charter Titans on Thursday, falling 24-11. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-8 back in April.

Pamela Quiroz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ambert Robert, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Discovery's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Community Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Discovery didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-20 defeat against Lakeview Charter on the 2nd. As for Community Charter, they will head out on the road to take on Sun Valley Magnet at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
