Basketball Recap: Freeman Mavericks vs. John Marshall Justices
Freeman suffered their biggest loss since January 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 87-48 loss at the hands of the John Marshall Justices. If the Mavericks were looking for revenge after losing 89-48 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Leading John Marshall to victory were Aiden Argabright and Latrell Allmond. Argabright posted 19 points in addition to eight steals and five assists, while Allmond went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, Argabright is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Troy Henderson was another key player, going 6 for 13 en route to 14 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Freeman and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for John Marshall, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Freeman has already played their next match, a 55-39 defeat against Hermitage on the 23rd. As for John Marshall, they will challenge St. Christopher's at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Christopher's will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something John Marshall surely won't give up without a fight.
