Basketball Recap: Lancaster Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Five

Lancaster Christian Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen by a score of 65-55. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Minutemen are ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lancaster Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Whitt, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. The matchup was Whitt's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Landon Bragg was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and eight assists.

Lancaster Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Road Christian only racked up 13 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin Road Christian lost, don't look at Ben Walker. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Alcorn, who posted nine points.

Lancaster Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Franklin Road Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

The future could be bright for both Lancaster Christian Academy and Franklin Road Christian: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Lancaster Christian Academy will try to hand Boyd Christian their 11th-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Franklin Road Christian will try to hand Riverside Christian Academy their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
