The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Swain County nor Murphy made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Maroon Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Maroon Devils in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Rylee Rawls was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Rawls wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carley Teesateskie, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Swain County's record is now 3-0. As for Murphy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Swain County will face off against Enka at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Murphy will be paying especially close attention to the Maroon Devils' game: after the Maroon Devils face off against the Jets, they'll take on Murphy again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
