Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Indians vs. Port Jervis Raiders

Liberty is 0-4 against Port Jervis since May of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Indians will welcome the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Liberty is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season two weeks ago. They came up short against Sullivan West, falling 10-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Port Jervis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-6 to Chester. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly six runs.

Shaun Misczuk was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Campbell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Port Jervis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Liberty might still be hurting after the 17-4 defeat they got from Port Jervis in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
