Softball Game Preview: Crestwood Comets vs. Hanover Area Hawkeyes

The Crestwood Comets will face off against the Hanover Area Hawkeyes at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Crestwood nor Hanover Area posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Tuesday, Crestwood came up short against Wyoming Area and fell 5-2. The loss continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost nine in a row.

Brooke Lenahan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jorja Snyder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Hanover Area fell victim to Lake-Lehman and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 10-0. The Hawkeyes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crestwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hanover Area, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Crestwood's way against Hanover Area in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Crestwood made off with a 17-4 victory. Does Crestwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hanover Area turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
