Basketball Recap: Coronado Dons vs. Dysart Demons
Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 68-32 loss at the hands of the Dysart Demons. While losing is never fun, the Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Demons are ranked 59th).
Lamar Anderson was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds for Dysart. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jordan Garcia was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.
Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Dysart, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coronado will welcome Desert Sunrise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dysart, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cortez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cortez's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
