Volleyball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Colts vs. Archbishop McNicholas Rockets

The Meadowbrook Colts will venture away from home to face off against the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meadowbrook will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Meadowbrook is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past London 3-0.

While Meadowbrook might've won, it sure wasn't easy: London scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-20.

Meadowbrook got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Journey Nicola out in front who had 11 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Nicola has posted since back in October. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Sichina, who had 33 assists and seven digs.

Meanwhile, Archbishop McNicholas earned a 3-1 victory over Bishop Fenwick on Saturday. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Archbishop McNicholas had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-20, 25-22, 25-17.

Meadowbrook's record now sits at 25-2. As for Archbishop McNicholas, their record is now 26-2.

Meadowbrook might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Archbishop McNicholas in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
