Basketball Recap: Thunder Ridge Takes a Loss

Thunder Ridge and St. John's/Tipton Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Thunder Ridge had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays and fell 66-26. The Longhorns haven't had much luck with the Blujays recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Carlie Brummer was her usual excellent self, going 13-for-25 en route to 33 points and four steals for St. John's/Tipton Catholic. That makes it six consecutive games in which Brummer has scored at least a third of St. John's/Tipton Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Lynelle Gengler, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Thunder Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Thunder Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 46-35 loss against Linn on the 7th.
