Recap: South Pasadena Tigers vs. Franklin Panthers
On Wednesday, South Pasadena really took it to Franklin for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-39 victory at home. Given South Pasadena's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Franklin is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Pasadena had a senior duo take command as Russell Williams scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Derek Peterson scored 17 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals. The match was Williams' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Oni Balogun was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for South Pasadena and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Franklin, they bumped their record down to 7-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
South Pasadena will be playing in front of their home fans against Dorsey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is on the road again on Friday and play against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
