Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for St. Elizabeth

St. Elizabeth had won two straight games and Nick Heckemeyer did his part to make it three on Friday. The St. Elizabeth Hornets blew past the Calvary Lutheran Lions 65-40 thanks in part to Heckemeyer, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of St. Elizabeth's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 12-5 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Ben Engelmeyer also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

St. Elizabeth is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Calvary Lutheran, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

St. Elizabeth will take on Macks Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in St. Elizabeth's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Macks Creek has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
