Soccer Game Preview: Sterling Heights Stevenson vs. Lakeview

The Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans will square off against the Lakeview Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sterling Heights Stevenson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Sterling Heights Stevenson proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past St. Clair 2-1. Given Sterling Heights Stevenson's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while St. Clair are ranked 202nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, neither Lakeview nor Utica could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Sterling Heights Stevenson pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those five games. Lakeview's draw gives them a new season record of 7-2-4.

Sterling Heights Stevenson beat Lakeview 3-1 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
