Volleyball Recap: Salt Lake Academy Wins Going Away Against Dugway

The Salt Lake Academy Griffins made easy work of the Dugway Mustangs on Friday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Griffins.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Salt Lake Academy was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-4, 25-15.

Amelia Anderson paced Salt Lake Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Anderson got some help from Mercedes Mendez and her 11 assists. Ammie Matos Lopez controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Salt Lake Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Dugway, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Salt Lake Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Rockwell on the 16th. After both having extra time off, Dugway and Tintic will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
