Softball Recap: Scarborough Wins Going Away Against Bonny Eagle

Scarborough lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Bonny Eagle, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Red Storm put the hurt on the Scots with a sharp 8-2 win on Friday. This was payback for the Red Storm, who suffered a 9-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Vera DiSotto, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Giuiliana Giftos was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

With the victory, Scarborough broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6. As for Bonny Eagle, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scarborough will venture away from home to square off against Falmouth at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Storm are facing the Navigators at the right time seeing as the Navigators are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Bonny Eagle, they are taking a road trip to face off against Noble at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.22 runs per game on average), something the Scots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
