Softball Recap: Olean Has No Trouble Against Pioneer

Olean got themselves on the board against Pioneer on Tuesday, but Pioneer never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Emma Edwards was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Riley Sudbrook was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Amelia Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Olean kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Olean is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

As of now, neither Olean nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
