Softball Recap: Lancaster Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fort Mill last Monday, Lancaster came back down to earth. Lancaster lost 12-6 to the A.C. Flora Falcons on Tuesday. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Cameryn Cauthen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Samaria Jackson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Cauthen wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Lancaster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in six consecutive contests.

Lancaster's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for A.C. Flora, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Lancaster will head out to face off against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for A.C. Flora, they will host Lancaster at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
