The Maranatha Christian Eagles will face off against the Foothills Christian Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Foothills Christian will be up against a hot Maranatha Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over Orange Glen on Thursday.

Kennedy Arango was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Morales, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Maranatha Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foothills Christian). They blew past Francis Parker 17-2 last Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.
Emma Romeka made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Foothills Christian got a massive performance out of Kenidi Phoenix, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Grace Steele also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Maranatha Christian's record is now 8-6. As for Foothills Christian, their record now sits at 5-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Maranatha Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Foothills Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maranatha Christian might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Foothills Christian when the teams last played back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
