Recap: Antietam Mountaineers vs. Fleetwood Tigers
The Antietam Mountaineers lost against the Fleetwood Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Antietam took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fleetwood. While losing is never fun, Antietam can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while Fleetwood is ranked 176th).
When it comes to explaining why Antietam lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julious Williams. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was AJ Schiefly, who scored 12 points.
Antietam now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Fleetwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antietam will face off against Kutztown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fleetwood, they will head out on the road to challenge Schuylkill Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Schuylkill Valley will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
