Baseball Recap: Templeton Takes a Loss

Templeton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against San Luis Obispo on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Nate Argain was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has become a key player for Templeton: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Templeton saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bo Swan, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Templeton's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for San Luis Obispo, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-7.

While Templeton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
