Baseball Game Preview: North Huron Warriors vs. Deckerville Eagles

For the first time this season, North Huron will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Deckerville Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Huron is looking for their season's first victory.

North Huron came up short against All Saints Central on Monday, falling 23-5.

Jett Zimmerman made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Jacob Koroleski also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Deckerville never let Caseville get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. Deckerville's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ian Flanagan was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Wedge, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Deckerville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North Huron's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Deckerville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

North Huron might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Deckerville when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
