Baseball Recap: Jackson Takes a Loss

Jackson extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-10 in the process. They came up short against the Tecumseh Indians, falling 13-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 17-0 to the Indians when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Tecumseh, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Tecumseh's part, Rocco Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Williams a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Tecumseh is undefeated when Williams posts two or more runs, but 8-9-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, Logan Ware was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Kane, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

While Jackson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
