Baseball Game Preview: Dugger Union Bulldogs vs. North Vermillion Falcons

The Dugger Union Bulldogs will take on the North Vermillion Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dugger Union will be strutting in after a win while North Vermillion will be coming in after a defeat.

Dugger Union took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Brown County by a score of 10-7.

Seth Fritzinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hudson Head, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Luke Fritzinger, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dugger Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, North Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Oakwood.

North Vermillion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Dugger Union, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6-1.
