Baseball Recap: Downey Takes a Loss

Downey lost against Grace Davis back in May of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Knights fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ryne Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double. He has become a key player for Downey: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 8-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Masani, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Downey's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Grace Davis, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Downey has already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Ceres on the 22nd. As for Grace Davis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-4 victory against Modesto Christian on the 22nd.
