Softball Recap: Foothills Christian Comes Up Short

If Foothills Christian was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Maranatha Christian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Foothills Christian fell 8-3 to Bishop on Monday. Foothills Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bishop's apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Holly Vigil made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-1. That run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Wolford, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Foothills Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Bishop's, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Foothills Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Santa Fe Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bishop's will take on rival Tri-City Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.7, the Eagles 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
