Basketball Recap: Deionne Robertson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rock Hill over Indian Land

Rock Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 71-52 bruising from the Indian Land Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Warriors are ranked seventh).

Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deionne Robertson, who posted 11 points and five boards. Zaire Williams was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Indian Land's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Jones, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points. Jones' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sequel Patterson, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Rock Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Indian Land, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

Rock Hill will take on Fort Mill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Mill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. Indian Land has already played their next match (against Northwestern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
