Basketball Game Recap: Holy Family Tigers vs. Silver Creek Raptors

Holy Family won the last time they faced Silver Creek, and Alexcia Oaxaca did her part to make sure it happened again. The Holy Family Tigers came out on top against the Silver Creek Raptors by a score of 58-48 on Friday thanks in part to Oaxaca, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Silver Creek had strong showings from Bella Ayer, who posted 18 points along with seven boards and six steals, and Avery White, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. White has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played.

Holy Family's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4. As for Silver Creek, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Family has already played their next matchup (against Horizon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Silver Creek will square off against Fairview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
